Forrest stood there adjusting to her comment. He grinned a couple seconds after and whipped his head around. "Don't think you'll get too far!" he teased and sprinted after Claire. His black sneakers were smeared with dew on the freshly cut grass as he paused and stared at his shoes in disgust. And then he realized that...well.../hello/ they were playing a game. Ignoring the mess, Forrest quickly made way to chase after her. "I'm gonna get ya!" he called and grinned mischieviously.

Claire stopped behind a large tree, hiding herself behind it even though he probably seen her. She was laughing, pressing her back up against the rough bark of trunk. Her eyes glanced up, staring at the sun's rays that filtered through the emerald leaves above her head. 'Yeah, today's perfect,' the girl thought to herself.
Snapping back to what was going on, she allowed herself to poke her head around the tree, scanning for Forrest. "I play soccer," she called out. "So you may have a bit of a challenge." A low chuckle escaped from her lips. Claire /doubted/ it would be much of a challenge, unless he actually wasn't much of a runner and most guys she bumped into could run.

Forrest skidded into a halt, bits of grass flicking under his shoes. He had seen a glimpse of her, and then she suddenly disappeared. He looked around, stretching his neck a little farther to scan behind trees and bushes. Suddenly Claire's familiar voice rung into his ears. He caught sight of her behind the tree and he grinned.

Aha. Stealthily and silently, the brunette tip-toed to the tree. Sneaking to the side, he lunged out and playfully hit her arm.

"You're it!" he exclaimed and laughed before running away. Just to make sure, he looked over his shoulder.

Her lips curled up into the same famous small smile she normally displays, hair swirling around her form as she quickly turned to face in the direction he sprinted off too. "Oh darn," she said fairly loud, amusement ringing in the tone of her voice. 'This will be interesting,' she thought as she lunged forward, racing off quickly as she could in his direction.
When his eyes glanced back to her, the female grinned and waved just slightly before pushing herself to go a little faster. As she ran, Claire started making a plan.
Her pace slowed just slightly, eyes watching him like a hawk would watch prey. In a way, he was her prey. He was the target that she had to reach, before the tables turned and she would become his prey.
Clarity, being fairly well-trained from soccer, slowed herself to a quick jog, speeding up only to try to get Forrest to run faster. She figured if she could save up enough energy and tire him out, she could sprint as fast as she was able to and lightly touch him on the arm. After tagging him, she'd probably be a little weary and run toward a play set, creating a little obstacle that may buy her time to regain some energy.

Forrest had rushed through the midst of the park, blurs of green, brown, and faint colors of other things rushing by. He had always been a good sprinter...just not much of an endurance runner. He could vaguely remember having to run so much at school. The brunette looked back and was startled to find that Claire was jogging at a pace that was well...not enough to catch up to him. His brows arched in puzzlement and Forrest had a good idea that she was up to something.

Well whatever it was...it wouldn't work if she couldn't /find/ him! Quickly scanning the park grounds, Forrest slipped between a narrow way of bushes and bent down to prevent himself from being seen. He stifled a snicker. Surely, she hadn't seen him.

'What's he...'
Her thought never finished. She couldn't believe she didn't see that one coming. "So much for my plan," she sighed, however she gave a light, fun-filled laugh. In her mind, this made the game better. You make a plan only to have another alter it. So you have to come up with another. Always on your toes, always thinking...
Forrest seemed to have taken a turn and disappeared from her sight. Suddenly, her feet began to thud quickly along the earth as she pushed herself to surge forward, sprinting as fast as she was physically able to. Yet, it wasn't quick enough.
She stood there, staring at the bushes and trees which surrounded her. Claire's hands placed themselves upon her hips as she peered around. She could call his name, but it was pointless. He was hiding, this much she knew. Replying back to her would just give his spot away. So, with a shrug, she began to search.

Forrest had to prevent himself as bubbles of laughter welled up in him, ready to escape in any second. Covering his mouth, he shifted down lower to the ground and peered through a slightly large-but still well covered- hole in the bush. But something was missing...wait a moment. Where was his jacket? The brunette silently looked around his hiding spot. No outergarment anywhere. Suddenly it hit him. It must have still been out! And Claire was looking for him!

Even as it was a game, Forrest had to eliminate all evidence so that Claire wouldn't find him. Peering through the small hole again, he craned his neck this way and that in hope of his jacket. He spotted the thick black hoodie abandoned on the ground near the bushes he was well covered in. Forrest quickly reached out his hand but recoiled when a thought dawned upon him.

Is the coast clear? He had neither heard nor seen Claire after his disappearance...and the immediate response was that she had to be looking for him. He would wait at least until he knew where she would be. So, silently, he peered into the hole, waiting for any sign.

"La la la la la."
Light, quick steps were taking as soft brown eyes dart this way and that. Sight of him was not all she needed. Just a clue. A rustle of movement, something looking out a place, or....
Claire stopped, a amused smile lighting up her features quickly. She leaned down, placing a knee on the ground as her fingers grasped out for it. "Ahh... The jacket you got yourself caught in." Her voice carried out rather loud, figuring Forrest was close enough to hear her.
"So... Shall I guess where you are?"
Hair blew out from her face as she glanced up, staring into the bush before her. Her legs lifted her body off the ground slightly, so that she was bent a bit as she edged closer, hand reaching out. 'He must be concealing himself within the bushes,' she thought, stopping before the plants and searching among the green.

Forrest crouched there and pouted when he heard Claire was there. He was extremely close by and bit back a laugh when he had heard question that was obviously referring to him. The footsteps emitted closer to his location and the shadow began to emerge over the bush. Something had to be done before she would find out where he was hiding. Maybe slip through between another bush? No, it would be too obvious...and Claire was a pretty good runner. He could act as if she wasn't there and lie still like a rock. No....he would burst out in laughter if he saw one glance of her. So...what else could be done?

A sudden thought dawned upon him as the teen grinned mischieviously. Tensed as he was still crouched beside the bush, he waited for the shadows to draw even near to him. And with a mighty yell, Forrest leaped up, hands darted up.

"Boo!" he exclaimed before grinning childishly. The brunette paused to pick out bits of twigs and leaves; in courtesy of the bushes. Forrest laughed lightly. "So...am I 'it' now?"

"AHH!"
The girl gave a startled shriek, jumping back just slightly as she felt the pulse of her heart quicken. Shortly after the scare, however, she gave a light laugh. "How nice of you to show up," she said, wrapping her arms around his shoulders as she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
Afterward, she pulled away, a grin flying onto her face.
"And yeah, you are it," she whispered loud enough for him to hear before turning around and quickly darting off toward one of the play sets that was at the park.
